Building of Mini Kossel 3D Printer – 14

The ATX PSU was too small. I had to install the 1A load on top of the case.

Today I decided to convert the Bench power supply I made before for PSU of RAMPS 1.4 controller.

I removed the 5A fuse and installed a fuse holder that takes 5A fuse backside of the case.

Raprap Wiki page about power supply recommends intalling 47 ohm resistor between the green wire and ground wire. I didn’t have 47 ohm and was lazy. So I made 50 ohm resistor by connecting two 100 ohm resistors in parallel.

+12V (yellow) and +5V (red)wires.

1A dummy load for +5V rail was made out of two 10W 10 ohm resistors.

The 50 ohm resistor installed on the green wire that is connected to the front power switch.

I soldered one pair of orange wires (+3.3V) which described on the above wiki page.

Checking +12V and +5V
It was producing positive 12.30V and 5.15V.

Five banana posts obstructed the fan so I moved it outside.
