Journal of 7/27/2013

Middle of June to end of July is typical rainy season. I stopped going to my base camp for two weeks. I’m a lazy farmer indeed. I’ll have to dedicate myself for the house project and recording how plants and weeds develops as seasons change.

Learning Permaculture seems to demand patience and good eyes. This year so far I learned five to ten edible plants and trees on the food garden and planted four crops for experiment: Green peas, corns, sunflowers, and black beans.

I just finished reading ‘Living Energies by Callum Coats (2001) about Viktor Schauberger’s technologies that work with Nature. It simply gave new perspective about water and trees at profound level. I’ll definitely apply Viktor Schauberger’s technologies whatever big projects I would do.

I feel all of them are my great teachers. Suppose present civilization embraced one of their paradigm, it would have fixed big problems that we are facing dramatically. The time will tell sooner or later how this dying world turns out.

The corn’s growth rate is many times smaller than other ones that received chemical fertilizers on controlled soil by farmers. I expect next year corns would grow bigger.IMG_0066

Kudzu pile. I regularly remove Kudzu to protect other plants and trees. Kudzu can take over quarter acre within few weeks in June or July.IMG_0085
