Original image resolution was 3888×2592. I reduced image size to 800×600 using convert program. -colorspace option enhances image quality better.
convert -verbose $f -colorspace RGB -resize 800x600 -colorspace sRGB $ofile
I had took these photos between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM on the way to the city. It was cloudy and snow began to fall when I got off the transit bus. I tested Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS zoom lens. Image stabilization feature at least made me take clean shots. Compared to previous Nikkor 300mm lens, I salvaged many photos. I will find out what’s limitation of this Canon lens.
Wild birds were so energetic and fast in the forest near my village house that I barely had good shots.
Under low light condition like today I would use higher ISO number to get shorter exposure time for sharp image. Now I can understand why faster telephoto lens which has low aperture is recommended for wild life animals.
All photos were close to what I saw. Post processing of raw images really makes different. I will post them tomorrow.
